Ski jumping is a winter sport in which competitors descend a specially designed take off ramp on skis, jump and attempt to land as far down the landing hill as possible, with scores combining jump distance and style. It has been part of the Winter Olympic programme since the first Winter Games in 1924 and is governed internationally by the International Ski and Snowboard Federation.
