Mumbai Indians is a professional Twenty20 cricket franchise based in Mumbai, India, founded in 2008 as one of the original franchises of the Indian Premier League, and the most successful franchise in IPL history, having won a record number of IPL titles. Owned by Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani's family, the team plays in blue-and-gold at the Wankhede Stadium and has fielded prominent Indian and international cricketers including long-serving captain Rohit Sharma, under whom the franchise won several of its championships, and the team's sustained success has made it one of the most commercially valuable franchises in global cricket.
