Lucy Bartholomew

Lucy Bartholomew is an Australian ultramarathon runner and endurance athlete, born in Melbourne on 20 May 1996, who has competed internationally in trail ultrarunning and triathlon. Inspired by her father Ash Bartholomew, himself an ultrarunner, she ran her first 100 kilometre ultramarathon with him at 15, finishing in about twelve and a half hours. As a teenager she rose quickly through mountain and trail racing, winning both the Ultra-Trail Australia 100 km and the Ultra-Trail Cape Town 100 km in 2017 and finishing third at the Western States 100-mile Endurance Run in 2018. In 2023 she completed the 171 km Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc in 27 hours 39 minutes, then raced the Ironman World Championship in Kona, becoming the second woman to finish both in one year.
