Richmond Football Club

Richmond Football Club, nicknamed the Tigers, is a professional Australian rules football club that plays in the Australian Football League. It was founded in 1885 in the Melbourne suburb of Richmond and spent its early years in the Victorian Football Association, where it won two premierships, before joining the Victorian Football League, the competition now called the AFL, for the 1908 season. The club has won 13 premierships since then, the most recent in 2020. Its traditional guernsey is black with a yellow sash and its supporters sing We're From Tigerland. Richmond has played its home games at the Melbourne Cricket Ground since 1965, while Punt Road Oval, its home ground until 1964, remains its headquarters and training base. Five Richmond players are Legends of the Australian Football Hall of Fame: Kevin Bartlett, Jack Dyer, Royce Hart, Kevin Sheedy and Ian Stewart.
