The Hawthorn Football Club, nicknamed the Hawks, is a professional Australian rules football club in the Australian Football League, based in the Melbourne suburb of Dingley Village. It was founded in 1902 in the inner-east suburb of Hawthorn, which makes it the youngest Victorian club in the AFL. The Hawks are the only club to have won the VFL and AFL premiership in every decade from the 1960s to the 2020s, and their 13 premierships are among the most in the competition. The home guernsey is brown and gold with vertical stripes, and the Latin motto is Spectemur agendo, meaning Let us be judged by our acts. Hawthorn plays at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, with a secondary home at York Park in Launceston, Tasmania, and has strong rivalries with Geelong and Essendon.
