Fremantle Football Club

Football Codes

Fremantle Football Club, nicknamed the Dockers, is a professional Australian rules football club in the Australian Football League. It was founded in 1994 to represent the port city of Fremantle, a stronghold of the game in Western Australia, and was the second Western Australian side admitted to the competition after the West Coast Eagles in 1987. Both clubs are owned by WA Football. Fremantle has won finals matches and two minor premierships but is one of only three active AFL clubs that has never won a premiership. Hall of Fame inductees Matthew Pavlich and Peter Bell and dual Brownlow Medal winner Nat Fyfe forged their careers there. The club trains at Cockburn ARC, plays its AFL home games at the 60,000-capacity Perth Stadium in Burswood, and fields a team in the AFL Women's league.
