Chennai Super Kings is a professional Twenty20 cricket franchise based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, founded in 2008 as one of the original franchises of the Indian Premier League, and one of the most successful and widely supported franchises in IPL history, having won multiple IPL titles. Playing in yellow, nicknamed "Yellove" by supporters, the team was for most of its history captained by Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who became closely identified with its identity and sustained success, and the team plays home matches at the M. A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
