World Backgammon Federation

The World Backgammon Federation, known as the European Backgammon Federation until 2018, is the international body established to support and promote the table game of backgammon worldwide. It regulates competition rules globally, assesses and ranks players, establishes regional governing bodies, and hosts international tournaments, with a stated objective of achieving legal recognition of backgammon as a mind sport at national and international levels. Its stated priorities include developing and expanding backgammon worldwide, uniting member federations, organizing competitions, building standardized rules and ranking systems, and promoting fair play and non-discrimination. It is based in Schwaz, Austria, and its president is Bernhard Mayr.
