The Deutscher Skiverband (DSV), the German Ski Federation, is the governing body for competitive skiing disciplines in Germany, founded in 1905 and headquartered in Planegg near Munich, overseeing alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, ski jumping, Nordic combined, freestyle skiing and snowboarding. It selects Germany's teams for the Winter Olympics and FIS World Championships and has historically helped produce particular German Winter Olympic strength in luge and bobsled alongside alpine and Nordic skiing.
