The Premier Lacrosse League is a professional field lacrosse league in the United States, founded by the player Paul Rabil and his brother Mike Rabil. Its first season opened on June 1, 2019 and used a touring schedule in major market cities instead of tying teams to home markets, so that the summer season would not overlap with college lacrosse or the National Lacrosse League. The league was built around player salaries, health care and equity, and signed many All-Americans and national team members in its first year. After a December 2020 agreement it absorbed Major League Lacrosse, adding the Cannons Lacrosse Club to reach eight teams.
