Anthony Dale Modra was born on 1 March 1969 and is a former Australian rules footballer who represented Adelaide and Fremantle in the Australian Football League and West Adelaide in the South Australian National Football League. Born in McLaren Vale and raised partly in Loxton, South Australia, he was known for his spectacular marking at full-forward, with the strength to match the best opposition full-backs. In 1993, after an injury to Scott Hodges gave him a place at full-forward, he kicked 119 goals in the home-and-away season and finished runner-up to Gary Ablett Sr. for the Coleman Medal. His 129 goals for that year remain the only 100-goal season by an Adelaide player.
