Tirunesh Dibaba, born on 1 June 1985, is an Ethiopian long-distance runner who competes in long-distance track events and international road races. She has won three Olympic track gold medals, five World Championship track gold medals, four individual adult World Cross Country titles and one junior title, and she held the 5,000 metres outdoor world record until 2020. Nicknamed the baby-faced destroyer, she became the first woman to win the 5000 m and 10000 m at the same World Championships, in Helsinki in 2005, and she won her first world title in 2003 at the age of 18 years and 90 days, the youngest world champion at the time. She comes from a family of Olympic medalists that includes her sisters Genzebe, Ejegayehu and Anna and her cousin Derartu Tulu.
