Tetsuya Harada is a Japanese former Grand Prix motorcycle road racer, born in Chiba on 14 June 1970, and the 1993 FIM 250cc World Champion. After winning the Japanese 125cc Junior championship in 1988 and the All-Japan 250cc crown in 1992, he won four races and the 1993 world title in his first attempt on a Yamaha TZ250, defeating Honda's Loris Capirossi. He was Max Biaggi's main rival for the 1995 title and finished third in 1997 after Aprilia gave him a bike. In 1998 he battled his Aprilia teammate Capirossi for the championship until the two collided at the final race in Argentina. In 1999 he moved up to the 500cc class on Aprilia's 380cc V-twin.
