Sudsy Monchik

Racket Sports

Sudsy Monchik is an American racquetball player, born on October 12, 1974. A five time Pro World Champion, he is considered one of the top three players in the history of the sport and is the only player on record to have won a national title or higher in five straight decades. Monchik won the US Open, racquetball's most prestigious event, in its first year, 1996, and again in 1998, 2000 and 2002, and he and Kane Waselenchuk are the only two men to win it more than twice. His more than 50 tournament wins place him fourth in career tournament wins, and he won at least one pro tournament in each of his first eight seasons on the tour, from 1993-94 to 2000-01. He retired from the International Racquetball Tour after 2003-04, came back in 2006-07 and later returned again, and he continues as a commentator and advisor to the sport.
