Sohail Abbas is a former Pakistani field hockey full-back born June 9, 1977, widely regarded as one of the greatest hockey players of all time and the highest goal scorer in modern turf hockey history, with 348 international goals across 311 caps for Pakistan. Known as the King of the drag flick for his accuracy and power on penalty corners, he represented Pakistan at four Hockey World Cups, in 1998, 2002, 2006 and 2010, and three Summer Olympics, winning gold at the 2010 Asian Games among other continental honors, and he also played professionally in the Netherlands, Germany, Malaysia and India, most notably for Dutch club HC Rotterdam.
