Nicholas Naitanui, known as Nic, was born on 4 May 1990 and is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the West Coast Eagles in the Australian Football League. Born in Sydney to Fijian parents, he moved with his family to Perth after his father died and grew up in Midvale, where he played junior football. After representing Western Australia at the 2007 and 2008 Under 18 Championships he debuted for Swan Districts in the West Australian Football League, and West Coast drafted him with the second pick in the 2008 National Draft. He made his AFL debut in 2009, began as a back-up ruckman to Dean Cox, and was later named in the All-Australian team as first-choice ruckman, the first Fijian to receive that honour.
