Naomi van As is a Dutch field hockey forward and midfielder, born July 26, 1983, who made her national team debut in 2003. She became an Olympic gold medal winner with the Netherlands at the 2008 Beijing Games, won gold again at the 2012 London Games, and earned a silver medal at the 2016 Rio Games. She was a world champion at the 2006 Women's Hockey World Cup, received the FIH Player of the Year award in both 2009 and 2016, and was made a Knight of the Order of Orange-Nassau in 2012 following her Olympic gold medal victory.
