Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum is an American-born German equestrian show jumper born December 26, 1969, in Los Angeles, California, who studied political science at Princeton University before training in Germany under Paul Schockemoehle from 1991 and later changing her citizenship to German after marrying fellow show jumper Markus Beerbaum in 1998. She won Olympic team bronze at the 2016 Rio Games, team gold at the 2010 World Equestrian Games, and became the first woman to win the FEI Show Jumping World Cup Finals three times, in 2005, 2008 and 2009, adding European Championship team gold in 1999 and 2005 and individual gold in 2007, and she was ranked world number one for eleven consecutive months in 2008.
