Martin O'Connell (born 29 August 1963) is an Irish former Gaelic footballer from Carlanstown, County Meath. He played club football with St Michael's and was a senior member of the Meath county team from 1984 until 1997. Over an inter-county career of two decades he won every honour in the game at senior level, including a Meath record of six Leinster titles and three National Football League titles, and an All-Ireland medal in 1987. He won four All Star awards and was named Texaco Footballer of the Year in his final playing season, 1996. Shortly after his career ended he was named at left wing-back on the GAA Football Team of the Millennium, and in 2020 the Irish Independent counted him among the players who narrowly missed selection for its list of the top twenty footballers of the previous fifty years.
