Manpreet Singh is an Indian field hockey midfielder and four-time Olympian, born June 26, 1992, who has captained the Indian national team since May 2017. He led India to bronze medals at both the 2020 Tokyo and 2024 Paris Olympics, and became the first Indian hockey player to win the FIH Best Player of the Year award, in 2019. He won gold with India at the 2014 Asian Games, defeating Pakistan 4-2 in the final, and again at the 2022 Asian Games, served as flagbearer alongside Mary Kom at the Tokyo Olympics opening ceremony, received India's Khel Ratna Award in 2021, and became India's most-capped hockey player on June 17, 2026, surpassing Dilip Tirkey's 412 caps.
