Leo Barry was born on 19 May 1977 and is a retired Australian rules footballer who played in the Australian Football League for the Sydney Swans. He grew up in Deniliquin, New South Wales, attended Saint Ignatius' College, Riverview, was drafted as a zone selection in the 1994 National Draft and debuted in the final round of 1995 against Collingwood. Nicknamed Leaping Leo for his spectacular jumping marks, he struggled for consistency as a forward until Swans coach Rodney Eade moved him to the backline in 2001, where, despite standing only 184 centimetres, he held much taller opponents, including keeping Fraser Gehrig to two handballs in 2004. He was twice named in the All-Australian team, in 2004 and 2005, and retired at the end of the 2009 season.
