Katie Chapman is an English former professional footballer, born on 15 June 1982, who played mainly as a central midfielder and sometimes in central defence for the England women's national team. She grew up in Bermondsey, joined Millwall Lionesses at ten and made her senior debut for them at fourteen. She then played for Fulham and Charlton Athletic before joining Arsenal, where she reached prominence by winning a domestic treble and the UEFA Women's Cup in her first season. She won the FA Young Player of the Year award in 1999 and again in 2001, and was named FA International Player of the Year for 2002. At international level she made her senior debut at seventeen, played in all three of England's games at UEFA Women's Euro 2001 and also featured at the 2005 European championship and the 2007 FIFA Women's World Cup.
