Kate Richardson-Walsh is an English field hockey player, born May 9, 1980, in Withington, Manchester. She was capped a record 375 times for England and Great Britain and captained the national team for 13 years, culminating in an Olympic gold medal at the 2016 Rio Games after a bronze medal at London 2012. She became Great Britain most capped female field hockey player in February 2016, and her marriage to teammate Helen Richardson-Walsh made them the first same sex married couple to win Olympic medals together.
