Jonathan Tamayo is an American professional poker player from Humble, Texas, born on November 14, 1984. He is best known for winning the Main Event of the 2024 World Series of Poker, where he defeated a record field of 10,112 entries to take the 10 million dollar first prize. His victory was afterwards overshadowed by controversy over on-site solver consultation by members of his rail, the group of supporters who watch a player at the table. The incident prompted rule changes at the following year's World Series of Poker, which came to be known informally as the Tamayo Rule.
