John Anthony Cernuto (11 January 1944 to 10 February 2025), known as Miami, was an American professional poker player based in Las Vegas, Nevada, who specialised in Omaha hi-lo events. He worked as an air traffic controller until President Ronald Reagan fired the striking controllers in 1981, after which he turned to poker for a living. He won World Series of Poker bracelets in 1996, 1997 and 2002, his largest score being 259,150 dollars for the 2,000 dollar no limit hold'em event in 1997. His live tournament winnings exceeded 6,200,000 dollars, and he became the all-time leader in poker tournament cashes, earning the nickname Ironman of Poker and the Hendon Mob award at the 2020 Global Poker Awards.
