Jimmy Keaveney, formally James Keaveney (born 12 February 1945), is an Irish former Gaelic footballer from Whitehall in Dublin whose league and championship career at senior level with the Dublin county team spanned sixteen seasons from 1964 to 1980. He is widely regarded as one of Dublin's greatest players. His Belfast-born father introduced him to Gaelic games, and at St Joseph's Secondary School in Fairview he first favoured hurling over football. He played his club football with St Vincent's, winning ten county football championship medals between 1964 and 1981 and an All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship medal in 1976. With Dublin he won three All-Ireland medals, in 1974, 1976 and 1977, seven Leinster medals and two National Football League medals, and he was named Footballer of the Year in 1976 and 1977.
