Jamie Gold

Jamie Gold, born 25 August 1969 in Kansas City, Missouri as Jamie Usher, is an American television producer, talent agent and poker player, known for winning the 2006 World Series of Poker Main Event. He grew up in Paramus, New Jersey, graduated from the State University of New York at Albany in 1991, and began in entertainment at sixteen as an intern at a talent agency, becoming an agent before he was 21 and later moving into management and production, with clients including Jimmy Fallon. His interest in poker began in childhood, encouraged by his mother Jane, a keen player, and his grandfather, a champion gin rummy player. After working with former Main Event winners Johnny Chan and Chris Moneymaker on a television project, Chan began mentoring him, and in April 2005 he won his first major no limit Texas hold 'em tournament at the Bicycle Casino for 54,225 dollars. He has also spent years on charity fundraising and has played many charity poker tournaments.
