Harish Kumar

Court and Net Team Sports

Harish Kumar is an Indian sepak takraw player based in Delhi and a member of the Indian national team. He represented India at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta and Palembang, where the Indian team won the bronze medal. Hindustan Times reported in September 2018 that after returning home he went back to selling tea at his father's shop in Delhi's Majnu-ka-Tilla and practised for four hours a day, from two to six in the afternoon. He said he was introduced to the sport in 2011 by his coach Hemraj, who brought him to the Sports Authority of India, which then gave him a monthly fund and kits, and he asked the government for a job to support his family.
