Freddie Spencer, nicknamed Fast Freddie, is an American former professional motorcycle road racer born in Shreveport, Louisiana, who competed in the Grand Prix world championships between 1980 and 1993, mostly for the Honda factory team, and became a three-time world champion. A racing prodigy who started on dirt tracks at the age of four, he won the 1978 250cc national novice road racing title and gave Honda its first AMA Superbike victory in 1980. In 1983 he won his first 500cc World Championship at the age of 21 after a dramatic season-long fight with Kenny Roberts, becoming the youngest person to take the title up to that time.
