David Gallagher (born 7 March 1980) is an Irish Gaelic footballer who plays for the Meath Senior Football Championship club St Peters Dunboyne and was a member of the senior Meath county squad from 1999 to 2005. He returned to the county panel in 2009 after the brief retirement of Brendan Murphy, but injuries forced him to retire. In October 2011 it was announced that he would seek a return to goalkeeping after speculation that Murphy was considering retirement, and two months later he was recalled to the Meath squad after Murphy's second retirement. He confirmed his own second retirement from inter-county football in November 2012. He won a Leinster Senior Football Championship and a Leinster Under-21 Football Championship in 2001, and he was selected for the Ireland squad for the 2008 International Rules Series, a choice that drew criticism of manager Seán Boylan because Gallagher was not then playing inter-county football.
