William Carter Phillips, known as Carter Phillips, was born in October 1988 in Richmond, Virginia, and is a professional poker player based in Charlotte, North Carolina. In 2010 he won the World Series of Poker 1,500 dollar No Limit Hold'em Six Handed event, a prize worth 482,774 dollars, and he is also the winner of the European Poker Tour Season 6 Barcelona Main Event, which paid 850,000 euros, roughly 1,216,023 dollars. As of 2012 his total live tournament winnings exceeded 2,600,000 dollars, placing him among the more successful young tournament players of his generation.
