Candice Dana Wiggins, born on February 14, 1987, is an American former professional basketball player. Born in Baltimore, she grew up in the San Diego area and attended La Jolla Country Day School, where she was a McDonald's All-American and led the school to the state championship game in each of her four seasons. At Stanford she became the all-time leading scorer in Stanford and Pac-10 women's basketball history, was a four-time All-American and won the Wade Trophy in 2008 as the best player in NCAA Division I. She was chosen third overall by the Minnesota Lynx in the 2008 WNBA draft and played in the Women's National Basketball Association for the Lynx, Tulsa Shock, Los Angeles Sparks and New York Liberty, winning the 2011 WNBA championship and the 2008 Sixth Woman of the Year award. She also played overseas in Spain and Greece, and played for the United States at the 2007 Pan American Games.
