Football Codes

Brian Mullins (27 September 1954 to 30 September 2022) was an Irish Gaelic footballer and later manager who played his club football with St Vincent's and was a senior member of the Dublin county team from 1974 until 1985. He is regarded as one of Dublin's greatest players, won four All-Ireland winners' medals with the county and later managed both Dublin and Derry. He was a nephew of Bill Casey, who played for Kerry in the 1930s and 1940s. Away from the pitch he trained as a physical education teacher at Thomond College in Limerick, taught at Greendale Community School in Kilbarrack, led Carndonagh Community School in County Donegal from 1991 and became UCD Director of Sport in 2000. In May 2020 the Irish Independent named him at number seven in its list of the top 20 footballers in Ireland over the past 50 years.
