Brad Daugherty is a professional poker player, born on 5 July 1951 in Mountain Grove, Missouri. He began playing poker on a high school trip in 1969, worked in construction after school, and in 1978 moved to Reno, Nevada after hearing of the large prizes in tournament poker. He won his first tournament in 1987. At the 1991 World Series of Poker he won the Main Event bracelet and with it the first ever million dollar first place prize at the WSOP, and he finished ninth in the 1993 Main Event. His 19 WSOP cashes account for 1,158,574 dollars of his live tournament winnings, which exceeded 1,700,000 dollars as of 2009. He co-wrote Championship Satellite Strategy and No-Limit Texas Hold'em for New Players with Tom McEvoy.
