William Walter Boyd (27 January 1906 to 21 November 1997) was a professional poker player and a five-card stud specialist who won all four of his World Series of Poker bracelets in that game. He, Doyle Brunson and Loren Klein are the only players in WSOP history to have won bracelets in four consecutive years, and for a short time he led all players in career bracelets until Johnny Moss tied him in 1974. As director of operations at the Golden Nugget casino in Las Vegas he was approached in 1983 about an unnamed game, which was first called Nugget hold'em and became Omaha. He ran the Golden Nugget card room from its opening in 1946 until 1988 and was elected to the Poker Hall of Fame in 1981.
