Anton Mang, known as Toni, is a German former motorcycle racer, born on 29 September 1949, who won five world championships in Grand Prix motorcycle racing, all of them on medium-sized machines: the 250cc title in 1980, 1981 and 1987 and the 350cc title in 1981 and 1982, the last 350cc champion before the class was abolished. As a youth he won German and Junior European skibobbing titles, and in 1970 he joined Dieter Braun's team as a mechanic. He won the 1975 German Championship on a 350cc Yamaha, made his Grand Prix debut that year and won his first Grand Prix in 1976 on a 125cc Morbidelli. At 38 he was the oldest 250cc world champion in history. He retired after a crash in 1988 with 42 Grand Prix wins and was named an FIM Grand Prix Legend in 2001.
