Alex Debón, whose full name is Alex Debón Latorre, was born on 1 March 1976 in La Vall d'Uixó, Valencia, Spain, and is a former professional motorcycle road racer who last competed in the Moto2 World Championship. He was the 2001 Spanish Road Racing Champion in the 250cc class and began racing internationally in 2000 with a handful of wildcard rides. After several years of middling results he became Aprilia's test and reserve rider in 2006 and was promoted to a regular ride for 2008 following strong wildcard showings at Catalunya in 2006 and Brno in 2007. In 2008 he opened the season with a pole position in Qatar and took his first Grand Prix win on 18 May at Le Mans in the French Grand Prix, from pole, on the 112th start of his career. In 2010 he rode a FTR chassis for Ajo Motorsport in Moto2 and announced his retirement at the end of that season.
