West Indies Cricket Team

The West Indies cricket team represents a confederation of English-speaking Caribbean nations and territories, including Jamaica, Barbados, Trinidad and Tobago, Guyana and several smaller islands, in international Test, One Day International and Twenty20 cricket, administered by Cricket West Indies, and, though never a single sovereign nation, one of the most historically dominant teams in the sport, having held the unofficial mantle of the world's best Test team for roughly fifteen years from the mid-1970s to the early 1990s. Playing in maroon, the team's dominant era featured a fearsome fast-bowling attack and batsmen including Viv Richards, Clive Lloyd and Gordon Greenidge, and the West Indies remain the only team to have won the ICC Cricket World Cup twice consecutively, in 1975 and 1979.
