Sevilla Futbol Club is a Spanish professional football club based in Seville, Andalusia, that competes in La Liga, the top flight of Spanish football. The club was formed on 25 January 1890, which makes it the second oldest sporting club in Spain devoted solely to football, after Recreativo de Huelva, and the Scottish-born Edward Farquharson Johnston was among its founders and its first president. Sevilla won La Liga once, in 1945-46, and five Spanish Cup titles, and hold the record of seven UEFA Cup or Europa League titles, the latest in 2023. Its home ground is the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium in the Nervion neighbourhood, and its long-standing rivalry with Real Betis produces the Seville derby.
