The Nigeria national football team, nicknamed the Super Eagles, represents Nigeria in men's international football and is one of the most successful national teams in African football, having won the Africa Cup of Nations continental championship on multiple occasions and reached the round of 16 at multiple FIFA World Cup tournaments, the furthest stage reached by any Nigerian side. Playing in green-and-white kits, the team rose to particular prominence in the 1990s, winning Olympic gold at the 1996 Atlanta Games with a squad that defeated Brazil and Argentina en route, and has produced internationally prominent players including Jay-Jay Okocha, Nwankwo Kanu and Rashidi Yekini.
