Kaizer Chiefs Football Club is a professional football club based in Naturena, Johannesburg, South Africa, founded in 1970 by former footballer Kaizer Motaung, who named the club after the Atlanta Chiefs of the North American Soccer League for whom he had played. Playing in gold-and-black shirts, the club is one of the most widely supported in South Africa and has won numerous South African Premier Division and domestic cup titles, sharing with Orlando Pirates a major rivalry known as the Soweto Derby, one of the best-attended domestic football fixtures on the African continent.
