The Down county hurling team is the inter-county side that represents Down GAA, the county board of the Gaelic Athletic Association, in hurling. It competes in the Joe McDonagh Cup and the National Hurling League. Its home ground is Páirc Esler in Newry. Down last won the Ulster Senior Championship in 1997, and it has never won the All-Ireland Senior Championship or the National League. The 1997 Ulster title is therefore the most recent major title in its record.
