Cuba National Baseball Team

The Cuba national baseball team represents Cuba in international amateur and, more recently, professional baseball competition, and is historically one of the most successful national teams in the sport, having won a large majority of Baseball World Cup and Olympic baseball tournaments contested prior to the sport's removal from and later reinstatement in the Olympic program. Reflecting baseball's status as Cuba's most popular sport since the 19th century, the national team has long drawn on a deep domestic amateur league system, and, following changes to Cuban policy permitting player participation abroad, national team rosters have increasingly included Cuban-born players from Major League Baseball and other professional leagues.
