China National Table Tennis Team

The China national table tennis team is the most dominant national program in the history of the sport, having won the large majority of Olympic and World Championship table tennis titles since the sport rose to international prominence in the mid-twentieth century. The team was also a central participant in "ping-pong diplomacy," the exchange of table tennis players between China and the United States in the early 1970s that helped pave the way for the normalization of relations between the two countries.
