USA Basketball is the national governing body for the sport of basketball in the United States, founded in 1974 and headquartered in Colorado Springs, Colorado, responsible for selecting and fielding US national teams, most prominently the men's team that famously first featured NBA professional players as the 1992 "Dream Team." It organizes US teams for the Olympics and FIBA World Cup across men's, women's and youth national programs, drawing on the deep talent pool of American professional and collegiate basketball.
