Swiss Olympic is the National Olympic Committee and umbrella sports confederation for Switzerland, formed in its current merged structure in 1997 from the country's separate Olympic committee and national sports federation, tracing Olympic roots to 1912, and headquartered in Ittigen near Bern. It selects and fields the Swiss Olympic team and oversees the country's Olympic sport federations, with particular Swiss strength across skiing, ice hockey, tennis and cycling, and hosts the International Olympic Committee's own permanent headquarters in nearby Lausanne.
