Shiloh: The Battle for Tennessee is a two-player board wargame published by Simulations Publications, Inc. (SPI) in 1975 that simulates the Battle of Shiloh of April 1862 in the American Civil War, when Confederate forces under Albert Sidney Johnston surprised Ulysses S. Grant's Union army near Pittsburg Landing. One player commands the Union and the other the Confederacy on a small map with about one hundred counters, and the game has been described as simple. Play follows an alternating "I Go, You Go" turn sequence adapted from SPI's 1972 game Napoleon at War: the first six turns represent the first day, the seventh the night, and the last six the second day. A rule new to the Blue & Gray series stops an attacking unit that suffers an "Attacker Retreat" result from attacking again that day, and the Union must move unengaged forces north in the opening turns. Victory depends on points for eliminated units and on holding Pittsburgh Landing. It first appeared in the four-game Blue & Gray quadrigame and was also sold alone as a folio game.
