US Open Racquetball Championships

The US Open Racquetball Championships, sponsored in recent years as the UnitedHealthcare US Open, is the premier professional racquetball event. It is a Grand Slam event in which men from the International Racquetball Tour and women from the Ladies Professional Racquetball Tour compete, and a professional doubles division was added in 2014. The tournament began in 1996, was held in Memphis, Tennessee, for its first 14 years, and has since been held mostly in the Twin Cities, with the 2021 edition in Minneapolis. It is hosted by USA Racquetball, was played in mid-November for its first 12 years before moving to October in 2008, and also has divisions for amateur players. Overall there were 708 participants in 2021 and 732 in 2019. Doug Ganim, a multiple world champion in men's doubles, served as tournament director for its first 25 years.
