PGA Championship

Golf Majors

The PGA Championship, often called the US PGA Championship or USPGA outside the United States, is an annual golf tournament conducted by the Professional Golfers' Association of America. It is one of the four men's major golf championships, alongside The Open, the Masters and the U.S. Open, and is the only one of the four that is exclusively for professional players. It was formerly played in mid-August as the fourth and final major of the season, but since 2019 it has been held in May, on the weekend before Memorial Day, as the second major after the Masters. It is an official money event on the PGA Tour, the European Tour and the Japan Golf Tour. Winning brings lasting privileges: champions are automatically invited to the other three majors and The Players Championship for five years, are eligible for the PGA Championship for life, and receive a five-year PGA Tour exemption and a seven-year DP World Tour membership. The event has been held at many venues, recently at a small group of celebrated courses.
