Yarisley Silva

Yarisley Silva is a Cuban pole vaulter, born on 1 June 1987 in Pinar del Rio, who competed at four consecutive Summer Olympics. She was equal 27th in the qualifying round at Beijing in 2008, won the silver medal at London in 2012, was equal seventh in 2016 and equal eighth at Tokyo in 2020. Her personal best of 4.90 metres was set in 2013. Away from the Games she was among the leading women vaulters of her era: world champion outdoors in Beijing in 2015, bronze medallist at the 2013 Moscow and 2017 London World Championships, and world indoor champion at Sopot in 2014. She also won pole vault gold at the Pan American Games in 2011, 2015 and 2019 after a bronze in 2007, and took gold at the Central American and Caribbean Games in 2014 and 2018 following silver in 2006. Olympedia lists her at 161 centimetres and 61 kilograms.
